Kara is a clinical psychology student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and visual and media studies from Duke University in 2018. After Duke, she was a clinical research assistant under Dr. Anthony Spirito and Dr. Elizabeth Thompson at Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she worked on several studies examining mental health and treatment access among youth in the juvenile justice system. She is interested in the impact of peer relations processes on development and health among adolescents and young adults, with a particular focus on social media use and technology.
