Annette Kim (she/her) is a doctoral student in the Developmental Psychology program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she is co-mentored by Drs. Kaitlyn Burnell and Anne Maheux. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from New York University, with minors in Sociology and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. Annette’s research focuses on how social factors, including social media and digital technology, shape adolescent development and long-term well-being. She is particularly interested in adolescent body image, sexual identity development, and the attitudes and behaviors associated with these domains. Outside of research, Annette enjoys running, all things Pokémon-related, and spending time with friends and family.
